  1. Welcome to the beta_3 version of CJK 2.5, a LaTeX2e macro package which
  2. enables the use of CJK scripts (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) in various
  3. encodings.

  5. All documentation of the CJK package will be found in the doc directory.
  6.  
  7.  
  8. In this beta version some files are missing:
  9.  
  10.     no .exe, .dvi files
  11.     no .tfm and .vf files for Korean encoding. If you need them, obtain them
  12.       from CJK ver 2.4 .
  13.     no runtime executables. They will from now on be replaced with soft links
  14.       to the original packages if possible.

  19.     Unicode virtual files for European characters.
  20.  
  21.     The FILES file.
  22.  
  23.     Example files (.tex, .dvi and .ps)
  24.  
  25.     A MULE to CJK converter.

  27.     Document style files for CJK languages.

  29.     READMEs in Korean and Japanese. The Chinese README describes version 2.4 .

  31.     The &U-xxxx; HTML macro of CEF.

  33.     A documentation of CEF.

  43.     hbf2gf:  faster (search_min_max() removed)
  44.              feof() seems to be broken under Amiga gcc 2.6.3; replaced with
  45.                == EOF etc.
  46.              some small bug fixes and typos
  47.              default value of target_size is now design_size (and not 10 pt)

  49. Changes beta 2 -> beta 3:
  50.     ttf2pk:  ttfdir must now be defined only once (in MakeTeXPK/maketexp.btm)
  51.              ttf2pkl instead of ttf2pk at some places erroneously used
  52.              an updated (and modified) version of MakeTeXPK will be used
  53.              Makefile under UNIX erroneously used FS=MSDOS
